Carlos Barroso has more than 20 years of global research and development expertise in food and consumer packaged goods, developing and introducing successful new products around the world.

Most recently, Carlos served as the Senior Vice President-Global Research and Development (R&D) and Quality for Campbell Soup, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. While at Campbell’s, Carlos led 500 R&D employees worldwide, focusing on accelerating innovation and new product development to both strengthen the company’s core businesses and expand into higher growth spaces, including new consumer segments, categories, and geographies.

Previously, he was Senior Vice President of R&D at PepsiCo, where he oversaw all R&D efforts for PepsiCo Foods including Frito-Lay North America and Quaker Foods and Snacks — a $27 billion business with more than 800 R&D associates.

Carlos began his career at Procter & Gamble where he had senior R&D roles in the Foods and Paper divisions in the U.S. and internationally.

Carlos currently serves as the Founder and President of CJB and Associates, a R&D consulting firm helping companies solve product and innovation challenges. He graduated with highest honors from Georgia Tech with a degree in Chemical Engineering, and has an MBA from Arizona State University. Carlos also serves as a trustee for the Georgia Tech alumni association, and was past chair of the External Advisory Board for the school of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
